Bongani Nx was selected amongst 5000 wannabe radio presenters during a raw Talent search campaign run by Primedia broadcasting. He earned himself a spot to join The Rude Awakening breakfast show, alongside Jeremy Mansfield, where he spent 10 years.
Bongani Nx then joined the Radio 2000 family, where he was co-presenter with Ernest Pillay for The Afternoon Drive show. He dabbled as a weekend show presenter for The Talking Drum, a show about African music, fashion, sounds, and lifestyles.
He has performed Television cameo roles in Generations, Egoli, and bophelo ke semphekgo and went on to spend 5 years on SABC 1 with The award-winning commercial series “The Perfect Sishebo Show”. He is the voice of Jim in the animated movie, Jock of the bushveld, alongside Meryl Streep, John Cleese, and Brian Adams, and spent 5 years in theatre, covering such roles as Mufasa in the Broadway theatrical – The Lion King. He then spent a further 2 years in Germany doing the German version – Der Koenig see loewen.
Bongani Nx is a singer, songwriter, and music producer with 4 professionally recorded albums. He has worked with such prolific artists as Hugh Masekela, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Kunle Ayo, and greats like; Donnie McClurkin, Jonathan Butler and Kirk Franklin.
Bongani Nx is the preferred master of ceremonies for most companies, as well as a voice-over artist for adverts and presentations. His most notable role to this day was his performance as the voice of the Fifa World Cup Soccer spectacle in South Africa in 2010.
